Yearly calendar of school wide events for Wonderwell Preschool with a layout geared toward prioritizing the user's ability to scan and locate upcoming events quickly and easily in an effort to maintain high levels of attendance at school wide events by minimizing confusion associated with an abundance of unorganized information.
Hierarchy along with the concept of selective attention (fine art concept), were utilized to develop the layout. Emphasized the calendar months with clear directives across color coded paths containing clearly labeled event dates in numerical order. Furthermore, each event is represented by a unique illustrated icon allowing for quick distinctions along with enabling small children to identify events.
Aesthetics also played an important role based on the idea that families would be more likely to display these calendars in a higher traffic area in their homes if it was pleasing to look at, thus contributing to increased awareness of upcoming events.
